Parents and Toddler

My son had an excellent experience with Talk the Talk Speech Therapy.  Laura was patient,  kind, and gentle with our son.  She made speech therapy fun.  Laura was great at keeping the family involved and provided tools to help Jax.  These tools, for me, were the most helpful because speech therapy needs to continue outside the session.  As Jax spent more time with Laura, he became more vocal and communicative.  I would highly recommend either Laura or Andrea.

We were referred to Talk the Talk through our pediatrician. Our second daughter Charlotte was speech delayed, had barely 3 words at 15 months, but didn’t qualify for EI because her receptive language was on track.

We reached out to Andrea who got us set up with minimal effort and we started working with Laura when Charlotte was 16 months old. Laura was great, educated me and Charlottes other caretaker on how to speak with Charlotte to encourage her to use words as she worked with Charlotte during the sessions. We saw her twice a week and by Charlotte’s second birthday she had over 100 words and was speaking multi word sentences. By 26 months Laura was so happy with her progress that she said we didn’t see any need to continue beyond the summer which was two months away because Charlotte had made such amazing progress.

Not only were Andrea and Laura great to work with, they also dealt with our insurance company and did all the work submitting which was huge. The fact that it all was covered (which I didn’t initially anticipate would be the case) and Andrea made it so easy was a huge cherry on top.

Overall I have been incredibly happy with our experience and highly recommend Andrea and Laura!

The same week my son was diagnosed with a speech delay at 16 months, COVID hit and schools were suspended indefinitely. I didn’t want to wait to begin his early intervention and sought out recommendations for a speech pathologist that could help. Luckily a friend suggested Andrea and she could not have been more perfect!

It’s quite a challenge to provide therapy to an active 16 month old over the computer – but Andrea succeeded! She was always flexible with her plan and was easily able to modify the session based on my son’s mood and level of engagement. He quickly knew what to expect and each session got easier and easier, especially once he started making progress and we could celebrate his improvements. To him, the sessions were about fun and game playing and to me I learned ways to practice with him in between our sessions. I also appreciated the feedback and guidance Andrea gave me on how to incorporate our lessons and practice on an ongoing basis. She taught us both so much. I can not recommend Andrea enough – she understands children (and their parents!) very well and her professionalism and knowledge is inspiring.

We noticed our 5 year old son having problems with the 'R' sound, both at the beginning and the end of words, when he started Kindergarten. Andrea came recommended from the speech specialist

at school and we spoke over the phone about his needs before the initial meeting. She recommended the length of the session based on his age and and explained the process she uses with her clients; how she "plays games" with children to get them to feel comfortable with her, and at the same time work on their speech. I was unsure how my son would react to anyone coming in trying to correct

his speech, but as soon as Andrea walked into our apartment he was comfortable and sat with her as she showed him some fun games to play. She brought cards, pictures, coloring books, anything that

would engage him but at the same time serve the dual purpose of repeatedly practicing the sounds with which he has the most difficulty.

Andrea is warm but professional, kind but persistent, and most of all knows the perfect balance between correction and encouragement so my son does not feel as if he is constantly saying the word incorrectly.

In the past few months he has been able to say the R sound properly when asked, and looks forward to Andrea's arrival before every session. I am very happy with his progress, and I am relieved that he has

someone who knows how hard to push him but also understands his limitations and works on his unique timeline. Andrea gives me feedback after every session, which I greatly appreciate as a novice to speech

issues in children. I am confidant that with her guidance my son will progress at a rate that is comfortable to him, and still achieve the intended results. I would definitely recommend Andrea to any parent who

is looking for a dedicated speech professional with the unique skill set that is required to help children reach their potential based on their specific needs.

When my son was eighteen months old and barely speaking I knew he needed additional help with speech.

My pediatrician recommended finding a speech pathologist but I had trouble finding a good match for my shy son.

Luckily, a girlfriend highly recommended Andrea and after meeting her I knew she would be perfect!

She began coming to our home once a week and working one on one with my son for a half an hour each time.

Andrea teaches speech through a balance of working hard and having fun!

Now, my son is almost three and has improved so much!

My son started working with Andrea when he was about 22 months old after being diagnosed with speech delay but was ineligible for Early Intervention. At that time, he had only 3 words in his vocabulary. Within a month, we began seeing tremendous progress. By his 2nd birthday, he had 25+ words and was putting two words together. He’s now 2.5 and using 4-word phrases every day. What we really appreciate about Andrea’s style is that she’s not only extremely patient but she also challenges my son, motivating him to continually improve. We can’t thank her enough for all she’s done! We would highly recommend Andrea to anyone.
