For this week's activity we are working on formulating grammatical sentences using appropriate verb tense. Everyone loves playing Candyland.

This activity targets pronouns, sentence formulation, verb tense, grammatical and syntactical utterances.
I modified the spinner to include pronouns. During each round, I picked a verb. We each made a sentence using the pronoun indicated on the spinner and a verb selected for the specific round. Each student needed to formulate a grammatically correct sentence to advance the colors provided on the spinner. The children were very competitive and were eager to formulate grammatically correct sentences. I love this board game as it can be modified for different targets and different age groups. It works on colors, turn-taking, labeling common objects, etc. This is a great game to have a home to play with your children and modify to work on different skills.
